One of my school projects was to rebrand a local business of my choosing. The business I chose was a record store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called Music to My Ear. The business is noteworthy for being a clean and modern record store, but its current logo and branding didn’t accurately reflect the modern look they were trying to get across. I had to explore creating wordmarks, lettermarks, pictorial marks, and abstract marks.
The entire process is outlined in a brand book. It includes a creative brief, research on the competitors’ and Music to My Ear’s current branding, sketches, color studies, vector explorations, and final logos. A PDF file of the brand book is placed at the bottom of this page.
